Jason Tuggle is the Worship and Creative Arts Pastor at Love Chapel Hill. He is also a singer/songwriter currently fronting two bands; the Jason Tuggle Band and Delta Son. Jason is married to Amber and they have a boston terrier named Franklin (named after their favorite street).
Three days before thanksgiving 2012, Jason visited his doctor concerning a pain he had been experiencing. After examination and an ultrasound, doctors found a tumor. A week later, Jason underwent a successful surgery to remove the tumor, which pathology reports determined to be cancerous. The tumor was a mixed germ cell embryonal carcinoma. Jason then underwent multiple CT scans, and an MRI. These scans revealed that the cancer had spread to lymph node tissue in his lower abdomen as well as several nodules at the base of his lungs. Doctors diagnosed Jason with Stage 3A Testicular Cancer.
Jason's doctors recommended 3 rounds of chemotherapy to treat the cancer. The chemotherapy treatments are with a regiment of drugs called BEP (Bleomycin, Etoposide, and Cisplatin). The treatment spans a little over a 3 month period (each round being 1 month long). With this radical treatment, doctor's give Jason 90% odds of being cured from cancer and walking away with a clean bill of health!
